List Your Property for Filming

One of the very first steps in film or television projects in deciding whether the Wilmington region is an appropriate location for filming is determining if the locations required for the projects are located in the region. To aid in this process, the Wilmington Regional Film Commission provides interested productions access to our Reel-Scout location photo database. These photos help the productions determine if appropriate locations exist in the region. The productions then make contact with property owners to discuss the possibility of renting property for filming.

If you are interested in having your property listed in our Reel-Scout™ location photo database as a potential location for film, television, commercial, and still photography productions, please provide the following:

  • Owner / Manager contact information, including:
  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Property address
  • Digital photographs

You may send the photos and contact information via email to commish@wilmingtonfilm.com or via USPS to:

Wilmington Regional Film Commission, Inc.
1223 N. 23rd Street
Wilmington, NC 28405

Your location photos will be posted to our Reel-Scout™ location photo database upon approval by the Wilmington Regional Film Commission, Inc. Your pictures and contact information will be kept on file and sent to production companies when the Film Commission receives requests for locations with a description matching your property. If a production company is interested in your property, initial contact is generally made by a location scout or location manager hired by the production company. You may call the Wilmington Regional Film Commission, (910) 343-3456, to verify the credentials of the location scout and/or the project. All negotiations for filming use, rates, insurance, etc. will be between the production company and the property owner, not the Wilmington Regional Film Commission.

Tips on Taking Photos of Your Property

  • Take pictures of the exterior of the property from all angles and views surrounding the property. Productions often want to know what the surroundings of a location are. Panoramic pictures are especially helpful.
  • Include interior pictures of the property and label them accordingly (living room, kitchen, great room, master suite).
  • Take one picture from the corner of the room, and take another picture from the opposite corner showing the reverse view.
  • Take pictures of special or unique features.
